What you get

Facilities

  • 24-hour access at every London branch we list
  • Classes included rather than charged per session
  • Large free-weights and fixed-resistance floors
  • No swimming pool at any London branch
  • No sauna or steam room — PureGym club pages list none
  • PIN or app entry, minimal staffing outside peak hours

The honest view

Pros and cons

Pros

  • The widest coverage in London by a distance — about 100 branches on its own list
  • Genuinely no contract, so January joiners can leave in February
  • 24 hours at every London branch, which matters for shift work
  • Classes are included, not an upsell

Cons

  • No pool and no sauna anywhere in the London estate
  • Peak-hour queueing for racks and benches at the busier branches
  • Pricing varies branch to branch, so the headline rate may not be your rate
  • Little staff presence outside core hours

Not for you if: Anyone who wants to swim, sit in a sauna, or train at 18:30 on a Monday without waiting for a rack.

Who it suits

Commuters

Branch density means one near work and one near home, and the Plus tier covers both.

Shift workers

Every London branch we list is open 24 hours.

First-time joiners

A rolling month at around £21 is the lowest-risk way to find out whether the habit sticks.

Questions

PureGym, answered

Does any PureGym in London have a swimming pool?

No. None of the London branches we list has a pool. If you want to swim, a council leisure centre or a Nuffield Health club is the realistic option.

Can I cancel PureGym at any time?

Yes. Memberships are rolling and month-to-month, with notice given through the app or website. There is no minimum term on the standard tiers.

Is PureGym open 24 hours?

Every London branch in our directory is open 24 hours — but only on the Core and Plus plans. Off-Peak members are limited to weekday daytimes, which is the catch behind the headline price.

What is the difference between Core, Plus and Off-Peak?

Core gives you one named gym with anytime access. Plus adds nationwide multi-gym access, a friend pass and earlier class booking for roughly £7 to £9 more. Off-Peak is cheaper but weekday-daytime only, so it does not include the 24-hour access the branch advertises.
